Planning Success!

The Acoustics team at Ellendale Environmental is very pleased to hear that our client, Context Properties, has been successful with getting planning consent from City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) for The Earl Grange Café on Fountainhall Road.

Ellendale supported the planning application by undertaking a noise impact assessment, so that the café can change from Class 1 use (shops) to Class 3 (food and drink).  The assessment looked at the internal noise level which could be transferred into the first floor flat above the café, based on typical café noise levels and the construction of the separating floor.  The assessment concluded that noise within the flat above would meet the target criteria required by CEC.
